My MPPT starts to behaive strangly. Watts drop to 0 several times per minute (5-7times per minute) and back to normal. Specially when the Batterie SOC is >70% or low load is consumed.
The PV Voltage is stable
All charging stages bulk/abs./float
The other MPPT in the same Network does not show this behaviour
Post a similar graph of the PV voltage and current, ideally over the same time frame just to be sure. Also details of panels, do you have a GX device these are wired to, is synchronised charging set up, have you tried with the VE Smart Network disabled, have you disabled the Smart Network and then reconnected everything to it.
The PV voltage and current are showing that the MPPT is stopping charging, the solar panel voltage increases to the open circuit voltage. There is no evidence of the panel having a poor connevtion or a poor connection to the battery. I can not explain it.
If the cycles occur, what happens if you turn the good controller off, does the bad controller still cycle.
if the good MPPT is off, the cycling still happen.
Coud it be that the recent firmware update caused this? I did not notice it before. Or maybe just a coincident.
I can not explain it, the unit may have developed a fault, the firmware update may have gone wrong, perhaps you can download a previous version to VictronConnect and try that or if still in warranty contact your dealer.
After installing back the old firmware version, the MPPT works stable again, no more zero drops.
Thanks for your help, specially @pwfarnell and Thomas Friedrich from Accusysteme TransWatt GmbH.
It seems that Victron is not aware, otherwise they would not release a new version (1.68) with the same bug. @M_Lange: Can you please arrange some feedback to Victron regarding this?
