I want ask on the following questions about EVCS NS :
1 - how to switch off light ring in the night time ? I found, that maybe it is possible via modbus. But in the excel register list it is address 5132 and default value 100. But I can read value 0.
2 - what exactly are doing this options in auto/manual mode ? :
let me answer my own question regarding light ring and register 5132.
It’s part of firmware 2.1, but it looks like a beta and I think, not ready for end users or I don’t know how to install a beta version.
edit: don’t know why, in change log is FW version 2.1, but last firmware is 2.01 with overal ring light regulation implemented
Hello Alex.
v2.1 and v2.01 it is the same version, just different number representations.
About the light ring.
Yes, register 5132 can be used for automation purposes(Node RED., etc ). You can reduce brightness or even disable it by the ‘Brightness limit’ settings in the web interface(Light Ring page).
About auto mode.
You can disable ‘Allow low excess solar power for auto mode’; it will not start charging if there is not enough excess solar power.
You can also disable ‘Allow battery/grid power for auto mode:’ or reduce ‘Battery/grid power timeout’. It will also limit charging time if there is not enough excess solar power.
Hello Nicolas,
thank you for your answer. My problem is, when ‘Allow battery/grid power for auto mode:’ was Enabled, charging doesn’t stop although solar production was very low.
But yes, I can accept any battery discharge in situation, that sky is cloudly and searching which setup is correct and which parameters are valid for auto mode and which for manual mode
