Firstly thank you again for the amazing technology, support and commitment to open architecture..!
We have recently added an EV to our off grid setup.
I’m finding if we leave it on automatic mode and connect the EV when the battery is 100% automatic mode struggles to find a charge rate and rarely hits the 7KW limit (single phase) it tends to hover around the 2-4KW mark. Even if the solar potential is 15KW.
My guess is that it is because the battery / solar is limiting the charge rate and the EV automatic algorithm isn’t agressive enough to push harder.
I’ve now written my own automation so that if the battery is in excess of 95% then turn the charger to manual mode and then back to automatic when below 90%.
Recommendation would be for offgrid mode to be more aggressive on the charge and maybe allow it to send 100% of the EV charge rate until it gets the battery to 95-98% and then start to use the smart load balancing.
