I am currently in the process of designing and purchasing the 12v components for my vehicle, in summary I plan to add a 200ah lifepo4 battery to the rear of the car to run loads such as cookers, fridge, chargers etc. I also plan to have a couple devices such as an air compressor and the Orion XS DCDC charger which will be connected to the main starter battery.
Could you please take a look at the link below which is my 12v design and provide any feedback?
Secondly, I’m not sure about the grounding and if what I have is ideal/correct? In the design currently I have the aux battery grounded to the chassis of the vehicle as well as the main battery loads (compressor + Orion), I do not have a cable return path to the main battery.
1st pass: The Orion, 50A fuse box and MPPT units need independently fusing to protect the device and the #6AWG cables - otherwise these are fused at 300A!!
The grounding looks fine. I am a fan of service shut offs/disconnects on the inverter, solar array and the MPPT. Its nice(and safe) to be able to shut individual things off and on easily during service/testing or fuse replacement without pulling wires off under load or shutting the whole system down with your battery disconnect.
