Hi all,
I would like to have a max SOC Alarm as I only charge the batteries up to a level below 100% If I am not going to expect excessive capacity usage.
Should be easy to add SOC Alarm as Well for a max Level.
Regards
Jörg

Hi @Roaringforties,
If you have a GX device you can set up custom alarms like this via VRM - instructions are here - 6. Alarms and monitoring
It should be noted that the BMVs are designed to recalibrate the SOC at 100% state of charge periodically to correct for inaccuraces that accumulate over time. If you are not periodically fully charging your battery to 100% SOC and having the BMV also reset, then be aware that the SOC will drift out and be less reliable over time.
Thanks , I know all that.
Between full Charge I Do Not want that 100% SOC.
I Do Not Not want more Equipment for only an Alarm, that Is easy.to implement.
So what device will be giving the alarm?
Sorry, if it is unclear.
The title is about Battery monitor (721 and smart shunt) .
The 721 Battery monitor allows min SOC Alarm.
Whatever device is connected via Bluetooth will give the Alarm.
I am only asking for a max SOC Alarm.
Same Software Routine/procedure.
Only a math function to be inversed.
Hope it is more clear now.

Jörg
Ah right ok. Well BMV is not specifically mentioned in your title or tags. And all lithiums have an inbuild battery monitor so yeah.
So on your system you are trying to avoid a full battery?
Yeah, I have no bluetooth BMS in my 2x100Ah LiFePo and afaik the internal BMS is interrupting the charging at 100% if one cell hast reached the maximum voltage 3,xx V.
The passive balancer will not be activated and every time I do a full charge at 100% this cell, reaching the full charge first, is “running against the wall”.
This limits the lifetime.
So every now and then I will do a slow 100% Charge to activated the internal balancer. Probably every 3 months, depends in how long the balancer charge cycle is running.
That is , more or less , the idea behind it.
But the topic is only about requesting a simple simple software procedure, which is a 99% Copy of the ‘low SOC alarm’.
