Feature Request: Configurable alarm output duration / pulse mode for Smart BatteryProtect

I would like to suggest a software improvement for the BatteryProtect product. Currently the device will give power to the alarm channel for 78 seconds after it detects the voltage is too low. This requires an extra investment in an 12V alarm and the volumes of the alarms are discussable. I was thinking that it would be great to connect it to the relais of my ship horn, that way I only need to connect a cable between the BatteryProtect and the the relais of my ship horn. The investment is low and my ship horn is really loud so I also can hear it when I am further away from my boat. What will not be great is that my ship horn will go off for 78 seconds, I will not appreciate it and the others around me probably wouldn’t enjoy that either.

There are solutions to counter this problem, but it will be an extra investment, a tangle of wires and time installing and troubleshooting the extra device. Therefore I was wondering if it would be possible to build a few options into the app for the BatteryProtect, if I could setup that it only sent power through the alarm channel for 1-2 seconds, I would be able to use my ship horn to inform me about the cut off of power. For example you could give people a few different options like:

  • Continuous (current behaviour)
  • Single pulse
  • Repeating pulse
  • Configurable pulse duration (e.g. 0.1–90 seconds)
  • Configurable repeat interval (optional)

This way people can use the alarm channel for way more applications in their current system. I am looking forward for the reactions and/or feedback on this feature request.
