EVCS + cerbo gx

Hi Everyone,

Just a small question because i did read the manuals but was not able to find the answers to my question.

My father bought an EV (Toyota CHR+) and i would like to install an ev charger at his home (preferably 3phase approx limited to 11kw @16A , his main fuse is 3x25A).

He does not have a battery system yet but is thinking about it in near future.

At my own house i do own:

= cerbo gx
= 3-phase multiplus ii 3000 ESS system
= 34kwh lifepo4 battery setup
= 5Kwp PV dc MPPT
= 5Kwp PV ac-in coupled.

I am more then happy about this system.

To be ready for a possible upgrade in near future i would like to install a cerbo gx + evcs charger at my fathers house. Main goal is to charge with excess AC coupled pv.
I already did read about the multiphase relay mod and am planning to modify it to make max use of the Pv ac excess range.

I will be able to read Grid power + AC coupled PV power in the cerbo gx.

Question:

No battery + multiplus will be connected at first. Is it possible for me to use the Evcs as is to charge with excess Pv ac current or does it need a battery / inverter system connected? Because i did read several topics indicating it does need battery power readout for automatic mode to function correctly. I do read mixed topics regarding the EVCS chargers. I would rather start simple and add functions later on.

First goal would be to have zero export and to have scheduled charging at fixed times, later on this could be done on minimum dynamic prices as i use this for charging my own batteries as well. I would like to have main fuse protection as well, switching on ac consumers and operating near the main fuse rating should ideallyi lower the evcs charging current; I can imagine programming this in node-red but is functionality like this available already or do I need to program it myself.

I am capable of programming some node-red automations but i would rather like him to start easily.

Thanks in advance for your support.
