Inverter RS 48/600 just had a forced firmware update to 1.27 and is now showing error 56. Have followed the Trouble Shooting steps, (power down, etc , check battery connections etc) with no improvement
I see the January topic on Multi RS 48/6000 with new firmware 1.28 resolving the issue. Can you suggest anything.

We’ve now had a second customer with the same issue as above, with Inverter RS. It would be good if this could be addressed
It is a self test error. None of the troubleshooting steps include wiring checks. Does the inverter output power or does the error persist?
As and FYI and inverter rs and the multi rs are two different models. Firmware is not exactly the same either.
The only error fixed in 1:28 is a 59 the relay in error which would not be fixed on and inverter rs as there isn’t one physically there and is a totally different error to the one you describe in your post (56).
Sorry for not being 100% clear. Both units are Inverter RS 48-6000 Smart Solar. Both units stopped working. Would not reboot or operate. Rolling back the firmware (found on Victron Professional) fixed the first unit. Hoping it will fix the same error with the second unit when installer visits site tomorrow. Hope this information is useful for someone who has the same problem if they accidentally follow a prompt to update firmware when logging in on VictronConnect.
