Energy meter identification

I work for a solar installation company. We have two sites that are very similar, the old site uses 2 x 5kVA Multiplus-II per phase and the new site uses a 10kVA Multiplus-II per phase with a Fronius Symo on the output. Both sites use the same model of external energy meter.

The meters are connected in the same way on both sites and the system settings are almost all the same, only the setting that must be different are different such as battery and PV inverter settings. Both meters display on the devices lists but in the settings under energy meters, the old sights displays the meter but the new site does not.

Could this be a connection issue or a settings issue?

Are they grid meters or load meters?

Is the firmware the same?

Good day

They are energy meters that can be placed ahead or after the system to monitor either the grid or the load. We are using it to monitor the grid supply and feedback.

The inverters have different firmware versions.

The difference in behaviour is probably firmware related.

I know energy meters can be used anywhere but where are they being used in the systems they are installed in?
