EasySolar temperature sense error

Hi all.
I’ve had 2 units complain of “temperature sense error” as soon as the sensor was plugged in. Both systems are new, both are 48v. One is a MultiPlus-II, this particular one today is an EasySolar.
Both have comms batteries connected over VE.Can (Dyness in the Multi case, RPL in the EasySolar case) so the temp sensor is not important due to the batteries having internal sensors, but the thing is that the EasySolar threw the error before i’d even made the cable up to enable the comms battery (i.e the battery was in dumb mode).

I’ve checked the firmware are all up to date.
I’ve checked the polarity of the sensor in the green terminal block.
These are the sensors that came with the Multi/Easy.

In both cases, the owner would really like to have an extra temperature point - “Ambient”, so that the difference between ambient and the battery can tell you more than just the battery temperature.

Surely the sensor should work out of the box in a dumb battery situation?

Thanks all.
