Dynamic ESS schedules battery balancing even it is turned off

Hi there, short question about Dynamic ESS and battery balancing.
My current version of VenusOS is 3.54.
Battery SOC is currently set to 10%

I use DynamicESS since Novemeber and had turned on battery balancing (beside of other options), because during the winter there was no way how to fully charge batteries from PV (have a heat pump as well). Everything worked perfectly, till now. During the end of February and current sunny days in March, battery is charged up to 100% almost every day, thus I realized to turn off battery balancing few days ago. But, in the VRM I still see message for today and tomorrow “battery balancing is scheduled for this day” and cerbo keeps battery at 100% with planned decrease to 80% for tomorrow morning (using energy from grid). Because PV precipitation is about 45kWh for tomorrow, I will send almost everything from PV to grid tomorrow, even I have set “Green mode” and price for sold energy is 20x lower than buying price.
Just to mention, that forecasted consumed energy is much lower than forecasted solar.
I also tried to change interval for balancing from 14 to 180 days without any effect.

Anyone had similar issue, or can be DynamicESS data somehow reset?

Thanks, Zdenek

Hi,

do you still observe the issue about battery balancing every day?
If so, could you post your portal-id? (The numeric one in the URL for VRM Portal)

Hi dognose, Maybe my description was bit confusing. I tried to explain, that because battery is charged from PV to 100% every day now, I don’t need battery balancing anymore, thus I switched it off in DynamicESS. Issue was, that even balancing was switched off, it still did balancing according to original schedule when it was turned on. Only solution was to turn off DynamicESS as such. Few days ago issue disappeared, and it seems to me, that turning on battery balancing option creates a schedule for some period of time (1-2 weeks?) in advance and even battery balancing is turned off then, this schedule is not discarded.

Another question is whether it is necessary to perform battery balancing (e.g. every two weeks) which I had set in DynamicESS even at a time when the battery is charged to 100% from the PV every day and then discharged to 10% overnight. Seems like battery balancing option does not take into account that battery is regularly charged/discharged by normal operation.

Yes, this is because for certain batteries just reaching 100% isn’t enough to be balanced. So, even if the system reaches 100% every day, currently the balancing is scheduled regulary.

But ofc, you should be able to turn it off during summer (doing that as well).

That’s make sense, thanks for explanation.
Regarding to turning off, this is what I exactly did and it was the matter of my first question. I turned balancing off at the moment, when balancing was already scheduled for next two days. Unfortunately it remained scheduled even I turned off battery balancing option and only solution was to turn off Dynamic ESS as such for this period…
