Does anyone know where I can get an “aux” cable for a Victron Smart Shunt 500a

Merry Christmas! to everyone who Celebrates, happy holiday for those who do not.

Does anyone know where I can get an “aux” cable for a Victron Smart Shunt 500a?

I have been searching for the above for a while, I have wired the 500a Smart Shunt to my Electric Wheelchair, but I need the “aux” cable to go from the shunt to the positive terminal on the second battery. This will enable better monitoring my Lithium batteries while I am out.

Apologies if this is the wrong way or place to ask, I can think of no other place. Many thanks in advance.

Update: thank you all for your assistance and support. I have decided to look for a secondary red fused cable. This should solve my issue. Again, many thanks to all.:folded_hands:

there is no need for a special cable / special plug to use the Aux connection?

just some raw wire

Hi,

thank you for your message.

Does the wire need to be fused?

always better to have it fused - better put a small car Fuse on the battery side?

Doesnt have to be big as you only measure Voltage - even 100mA would be ok, but also 10A wont be dangerous

There should have been a second one in the box.
The SmartShunt normally comes with two red wires with a inline fuse, ferrule on one end and M10 lug at the other end.

Hi,

thank you again for your advice.

Hi,

thank you for the suggestion, I did not know if the “grey” aux cable that was encouraged to use was a different type, and the second red cable was a “spare”?

Gray?
Do you have an IP65 SmartShunt?

Hi,

the shunt is the IP21 500a version.

Several sites mention a “grey” auxiliary cable. If needed.

I have just looked at another site that mentions the second red cable can be used as a midpoint connection(24v) to the second battery’s positive terminal. This aids in better battery life and monitoring.

I will look for another pre-made red cable. I am ok making the main cables for my wheelchair, but my hands have trouble making the thinner cables.

thank you once again Matthias👍
