Disconnect from grid where SOC >= 85%

Problem Statement: I am changing the Inverter Mode to “Inverter Only” from On”, using VRM, when the PV Charger is about double the AC load. Battery SOC should not be lower than 85%. Could this be done automatically with NodeRed?

Reason: Why draw power from the grid when you do not need to, even if it is very little, so as to stop export / feedback?

My solar solution:

Quattro 48/8000 grid tied

Asistant: ESS (no export / feedback to the grid)
Battery: 10kWh Freedom Won Lite
Cerbo GX
Panels 2.76kW
MPPT: RS450/100
Minimum SOC: 80%
Grid Setpoint: 30W

There is most probably additional logic which will need to be applied.

Has anyone done something like this?

Yes, I do it on my RV. But if you are running ESS, why not just set your grid set point to 5W or 0W and let ESS do its thing?

Thank you for the reply Ed.

If I set my Grid Setpoint too low, then it feeds power back into the grid even with the correct Grid Code.

30W’s seems to be the magic number.

ESS works well, but there is still power feeding from the grid - relatively small - up to 300W - but I am trying to reduce power from the gird.
