DESS still terrible, same obvious errors over and over again - PLEASE FIX THAT

Watching over a bunch of installations using DESS, tried every firmware, beta or release, no matter what a lot of extremely obvious and stupid errors still do happen frequently, i simply cannot believe that Victron does not fix that, that are errors that MUST NOT HAPPEN under any circumstances.

One of the most terrible and unexcusable errors is the following:

System stops charging a half empty battery and is exporting power to the grid for no whatsoever benefit or even does financial damage (dynamic energy prices very low, zero or even negative), there is no whatsoever scenario where that would make sense, that happens frequently and it stopps immediately once you disable DESS. This is obviously very bad coding, as a programmer myself i am really mad about such obvious errors that do not get fixed for many month now. To make it clear, this is not some difficult decision making process that would involve planning, calculation or prognoses, this is simply a terrible error that should have been fixed a long time ago.

Damage is not only done due to wasting available solar power, but during the night the system needs to buy very expensive energy as the battery did not get charged properly

Victron is currently loosing a lot of it’s usually very good reputation, such terrible handling of obvious problems will do a lot of damage to this company. Victron needs to hire one or two good coders, and such nonsense would be gone in days.

PLEASE FIX THAT !!!

Please use whatever possible ways to bring this to the attention of upper management, it can’t go on like this.

I’ve tried DESS 4 times - every time I have had to turn it off…………..

I have to watch my words a little not to come across too negative, in general I am quite happy with the whole of the Victron platform and ecosystem. That said, I am thoroughly convinced that the VRM DESS Trade implementation is broken beyond repair with no solution in sight. For trade oriented ESS systems the Node-RED DESS Trade implementation provides a reasonably functional alternative, for as long as that lasts because plans to phase out Node-RED DESS have been communicated a while ago already. My advise to anybody working with or on trade oriented systems I would strongly advise to get acquainted with Node-RED and start setting up your own trade logic.
