DESS off and no control panel in Dashboard

hi all,
New DESS user here. I set up my system this weekend and DESS wanted to first charge the battery fully up and this apparently has switched DESS off. Now it will not finish the charging, and I have no way of switching DESS back on. The control menu that is mentioned online and in instructions is nowhere to be seen and I think all settings are correct. I have also rebooted the Cerbo gx but this has not resulted in the button to appear in the dashboard.

Is there something I miss? I now have a fully charged battery for the last 2 days but no active DESS.

in the screenshot below you see the toggle for the control menu next to local time is missing

Dynamic Ess is off

Dynamic Ess mode should be switchable from the control menu as per setting below

So guess my question is how I get the control menu to show up in the vrm portal

Which ESS-Mode are you running? “Keep Batteries charged” will set DESS into an Off-State, as there is nothing DESS could do then.

Hello Dognose,

I found in the remote console this:

So optimised with battery life. I cannot change this however.
This screen looks remarkably like the screenshots I have seen from the control menu, however it does not contain a DESS on/of toggle.

Looking further in the remote console I also checked the settings for VRM portal:

The first line says ‘ read only’ and I am not allowed to change it to ‘ full’. Might this be the issue? How can I change those settings? Only on the screen of the cerbo itself? I cannot check as I do not live near the installation.

Yes, VRM Needs Full-Access in order to push a schedule for DESS to the local device.
So, your device “ran out of schedules” and therefore switched DESS to the Off-State I would assume.

To change that, you need to connect to the remote console through the local ip, when displaying the remote console through VRM, it is ofc. limited to the configured access restriction, else any “read-only”-Accessor could switch that to full access

Thanks a lot.drove up there tonight.1 minute job on the screen of the Cerbo to change access. Things are happening again!
