DESS grid limit is not working correct

Hi At first the situation

The settings:
ESS:
Grid: 63 ampere. (43 KW) in and out.
Green mode

Battery:
battery cap: 45 KW
Max load 15 KW
Max unload: 16 KW.

RS settings
limit AC in 32 amp.
At Grid meter 63 ampere.

What happens: The DESS keeps te setpoint at the Grid at max 17 KW (sould be 63 amps max). When the grid goes over the 17KW the RS is will reduce its charging and starts working to meet the needs above the 17KW.

I think this is a bug!
Thanks for helping out!
Robert

Do you have a single phased or three phased system?

Grid I assune to be 3 phased due to 63A = 43kW.

Hi Dognose,
Yes 3 phase

What did you configure for maximum import / export power in the VRM DESS Settings?

That should be your grid capability (43 kW), not your ACIn limit and not your desired Battery Charge rate.

These are the settings.

That looks as it should be.

So, what you could test:

  • Turn off DESS
  • Use a scheduled charge in regular ESS
  • Check, if the same limitations apply.

If the RS is reducing its chargerate when there is significant consumption along the charging, it may also be it’s internal AC Current Limit protection or Peak-Shaving that decides “to act”.

(You can also review these settings, without the test ofc. I also tend to specify the PeakShaving currents explicit, so I know, what value is actually used)

I tryed to test it today but nog enough power was taken. Ik think it has to do with the Peakshaving on the power in of the RS.
Let you know when i know more!
