DESS Green Mode charge-discharge-carge

Same problem here, 3 hours planned an now 1 hour discharge at low grid price.
dess hack is active.

@grua can you check your dess from 5.12., on this day i had no discharge problem.

Just a guess…Have you noticed that it always happens at the same time? Or am I mistaken? I had the same problem a few days ago. My research has shown that my internet is regularly down for a few minutes at 5am. According to my provider, it’s something to do with maintenance and updates. dognose mentioned something similar. It’s not a solution to the problem but maybe an approach.

sorry, actually meant for grua. But you should maybe also have a look

5.12. had no problem, but it was only charged for just over 1 hour:

As far as I have observed so far, the problem occurs after at least 2 hours of charging at full power and then a third hour of additional charging. But I will analyze this in detail, also with regard to the time and possibly also contact the provider.

Info will follow!

To give you a tiny feedback about the issue observed:

The VRM Team has now looked at it in detail, and identified an issue with the schedule under certain circumstances.

A fix is beeing worked on. It doesn’t require any firmware update as it is only schedule-related.

Wow, what great news, thank you so much, you made my day! :+1:

Has Victron already changed something about the timing? If so… I just had the opposite problem. Shortly before the planned charge, the battery was used for another 2 hours. But the price is almost identical

Same behavior here. And i have a black forecast bar in the chart. Think they are working on it.

Tomorrow it will be exciting to see whether charging will actually take place every 3 hours without discharging before or in between:

I have now deactivated dess. Hope a solution will be available soon.

Unfortunately I was too happy too soon, it was never as bad as last night:
This time there was not just a 1-hour break during charging, but a 2-hour break. The battery should be 100% charged by 05:00:

In fact, when I woke up this morning it was only just under 60%, and the two hours of charging will be made up at more expensive hours:

And that’s what happened in the end, the last charge hour that had already been moved to the more expensive hour was not carried out at all, instead the battery was discharged!

The original plan:

The plan some hours later:

This the actual implementation:

Whoever wants to understand what DESS is doing here, I don’t even begin to understand it…

Tomorrow the prices will be really bad. I’m not going to take any risks and will deactivate DESS and manually enter charging up to 100% at the cheaper night times as a plan in the ESS!

Dess is now working a few days without the charge-discharge-charge behaviour.
I think they fixed the bug.
