Can somebody confirm if a Vitro dc to dc 12 x 12 30isolated charger can be installed in the engine compartment , the vehicle will be used in the Kalahari.
Any help will be appreciated.

I’d say yes it could be, but does spec sheet for said item specify temperature?
I’m not familiar with this item, does it required any cooling/ air flow.
Engine compartments get very hot, so not advisable to site such items in there unless ventilation/ cooling is considered, at best it might work, but may derate massively due to heat, at worst overheat and fail.
This would not be recommended, both because the unit is neither waterproof nor ignition-protected, and because it would de-rate rather quickly due to heat, and because in general the unit should be installed closer to the target battery bank rather than the source battery bank.
The only DC-DC charger brand I can think of offhand that’s actually rated for engine compartment installation is REDARC, and oh boy you do pay extra for that rating.
