DC isolation switch

I recently had a victron system installed consisting of 3 x multiplus 11 in 3 phase operation and Fronius 10Kw PV inverter. Also 4 x US5000 pylontech batteries. The company was very professional but.my only concern is that a DC isolation switch on.the positive from the batteries was not installed. They explained it was not necessarily as the batteries have a switch on each battery. Is a victron DC switch necessary???. Or is it overkill.
Thanks

It depends on the local regulations most of the time. In Australia, you will have a main DC fuse/isolator for each battery bank, and each inverter will have its own fuse. A large double-pole DC circuit breaker from the battery bank is not overkill. Victron don’t make anything noark for example, are very good and some other brands.
