How many watts does a Victron 24/12 70a dc dc converter draw when idle?
I am currently using my RV’s OEM converter/charger as the 12v source for my 24v system. It no longer has any 12v battery to charge so it is strictly a 120vac to 12v converter. But it pulls 20watts even with no 12v loads on. I am wondering if the Victron converter uses less wattage when idle.
Data sheet says current draw is <20 mA when off (see below) using the remote switch.
But that is not the same thing as when it is on with no load.
Someone would have to measure it.
12 V * 0.020 A = 0.24 W
13.8V * 0.020 A = 0.276 W
Yeah I figured. I was hoping someone had done this at some point in their build and knew.
