I am going to try this again. I appreciate the assistance but I really need to hear from Garmin users who have made this work. Garmin 8616 display connected to Cerbo via Ethernet. Looking to get Victron app loaded onto Garmin display.
I have tried
Victron Ethernet cable (verified good) directly to MFD..no luck shows Ethernet connection on Cerbo but nothing else
Victron Ethernet to Garmin POE to Garmin cable to MFD .. same result as above
Victron Ethernet to Garmin POE to another Victron Ethernet cable to MFD .. same result as above
Using new GUI interface
MQQT is on
I would love to hear from someone who has actually made this work Thanks
I’m having trouble getting my Cerbo GX2 to communicate with my Garmin GPSMap 8616xsv
Garmin GPSMAP 8616xsv, software 43.05
Cerbo GX2, Venus OS 3.73
Direct Ethernet connection
Garmin discovers Victron._garmin-mrn-html._tcp.local
Garmin fetches /garmin/config.json
Garmin logs “Unable to parser JSON data”
Browser successfully retrieves:
/garmin/config.json
/garmin/icon.png
/app/
App runs correctly in browser
Security level change on the Cerbo to “weak” does not help
Has anybody made this work? It’s supposed to be easy.
A related question. Now that the Victron Cerbo GX2 and Garmin Charplotter 8616xsv are communicating, the Garmin can display a page that exactly duplicates the pages visible on the Cerbo. Can the Garmin actually read any of the data so that the Garmin could display selected data items in a number grid or on the corners of the chart display?
