On the Victron site I saw an instruction for the BMV-600s where it states one can add the VE.Direct cable to the BVM. Looking at the plug, it has a 4-pin plug, as does the BVM. But it does not fit. I thought VE.Direct Bluetooth is the same as “VE.Direct”.

Unfortunately the 600S is not on the compatibility list.
You seem to have an 11-year-old BMV-600S there (manufactured in the 22nd week of 2013), so I fear it’s simply a bit too old to allow comms with a (relatively) modern VE.Direct accessory.
