Hi,
I recently installed a Victron Orion XS 12/12-50 charger. Previously, a Smart TR 12-12-30 was installed.
I set the charging voltage to the preset value for an AGM battery at 14.7V, but it’s charging at 15V. Why?
Best Regards,
Thomas

Did you upgrade the wires?
Are you measuring the 15V at the Orion XS output or at the battery terminals?
Temperature compensation is active by default for the AGM preset on these units. The 14.7V would apply at 25°C. At lower temperatures it will go higher. At 5°C it could charge at around 15V.
If you have a smart shunt with VE smart networking it feeds the actual battery voltage to the Orion allowing the unit to put out a higher voltage if necessary to compensate for volt drop in charging cables.
LX:
Hi, no upgrade the wires. But Charging current is anyway limited to 10A.
I Use 10mm² wires.
TempComp can be a reason - many thanks!

Temperature compensation is a good point. I have to check this.
Measure voltage with the App.
