Hello everyone, I’m newly working with the Cerbo GX and have been playing within Nodered. Now I’d wish to monitor the temperature of a freezer. The hick is that the freezer is quite far from the Cerbo. So I’m wondering is there remote temperature sensors that can connect to the Cerbo, or perharps is it possible to connect something like an ESP32 to the Cerbo via Nodered to monitor temperature. Thank you all in advance. I’m getting slowly getting into home automation and stuff like that if anyone has good resources to share I’d appreciate it a lot.
Look at the wireless Ruuvi Tags. If that is not near enough, I don’t see any reason you can’t use virtual devices, provided you have a way to get the data to Node Red.
I was using Node Red as test with a virtual temp sensor as a test with dummy data.
Now Node Red is not accessible. I have no motivation to fix it as it’s not critical for me.
The Shelly UNI is the way to go with the Shelly DS18B20. I bought the parts and got it to work, but never installed it. Instead, I have a Node-Red dashboard and used 1 PM’s to measure the daily power consumption, so I know they have run. I have one freezer and 2 fridges.
