Cerbo GX and bluetooth

Hello Everyone: New to the forum>
I have just fired up my camper van system for the first time. I have gotten the Smartshut to link right up to Victron Connect via Iphone, but my MPPT and my Cerbo GX get to 80% then ask for a pin which I put in 000000. It just does the same thing over three times and sends my to a help page. I have even tried connecting to the Cerbo GX wifii and then tried to bluetooth to it. No luck that way either. Is there something I am missing. This shouldn’t be that difficult. Thank you

Read the text from the PIN request window.
A while ago Victron started to give each device an individual PIN.
Take a look at the devices.

PS: There is not much you can do with the Bluetooth at the Cerbo.

Ok. I have looked on each device and the boxes they came in from Inverterrus but have not seen anything 6digit codes or anything that says pin. The Cerbo was programmed from them so i Believe that’s probably why I can’t get linked to it. IDK

Maybe you can help me with this also. I have a MPPT 100/50 but I don"t think it is big enough for my system. I have used several MPPT calculators and they all come up with a different answer. I have 3-200w 24v Rich Solar panels, VMP 36.3V, IMP 5.51A VOC 43.5, ISC 5.93A, Temperature in place I will be range from 0 degree F to 90 degree F. 24v Battery bank, panel are wired in series. What size of MPPT do YOU think I need. Thank you for the help

If you have previously tried to connect via phone settings it may do that. You need to connect via victron connect app. Check in phone Bluetooth settings then if listed forget device.

Neither one of them ever showed up in the Iphone bluetooth page so I never had to do that. The smartshunt showed up though.

Did you program them or someone else? If someone else, ask them what PIN they set.

No. I got from inverterrus.ty

No to which ?? You’re looking for a label like this:

If someone else programmed it, ask them for the PIN they used.

Ok. I seen that label on the Cergo Gx but not on the MPPT. I will look again this evening. I do know InverterRUS was suppose to program it. I have also contacted them. It looks like I will be change the MPPT out anyways for a bigger one. 100/50 is not going to work for my system. The Combined VOC to high

Did you use the Victron MPPT calculator?

3 x 200W = 600W / 24V = 25A
A MPPT 100/30 would be enough, if you connect all panels in parallel.
With a 150/35 you could connect the panels in series.

Yes. That is where I get confused. I have checked it several times. One time it will say 150/70 and the next 250/70. So I really don’t know which way is the safest and cheapest. Big price difference between the 2. I guess the voltage in is what is tripping me up when it is very cold. I’m lost on this subject.

The result on the MPPT calculator is jumping between the 150v series and the 250v series because you are on the high edge of the 150 and the low edge of the 250.

Is there a reason you don’t want to go 3 panels in parallel? - its the safe, cheap option, you already have all the gear you need, and with only a small downside in the time of day when the panels reach the point where they are making enough voltage to kick everything off.

I have 100/50 MPPT right now and that will not work no matter which way I go. I also have everything mounted on the van and all the wiring ran. I would like to keep everything in series to get full the benefits from the panels. I will never see -40C on any of my trips. This is probably the hang up I’m having on the VOC Temp COeff.
