CCGX 3.50 and 3.51 swu

Hello everyone, :hugs:

I’m still new to this platform and hope to post my comments/questions in the right place.

I manufacture motor homes and have been using the Victron system for 4 years.
The structure of the system is very simple: 4-6 batteries (24V/200Ah), SmarShunt, VE.BUS BMS V2 , Quattro 24V/8K, CCGX, Buckboost, Cyrix, BatteryProtect, 1 or 2 Solar controllers, 5 or 6 solar panels.

The motorhomes installed in the older 2021-2022 year returned to me for maintenance. I thought that I would add a Victron Wifi module to the system, connect the CCGX to the customers’ wifi network so that I could remotely monitor the energy network.

My first problem:
I updated CCGX device venus-swu-ccgx-v2.72.swu to version venus-swu-ccgx-3.50.swu.
After the update, the device turned off/on and became a paperweight.
I sent it back at the request of my contact person and received a new device.
I was able to update the new device to version 3.50, but for some reason it does not see the USB wifi device connected since then.
I thought that this must be an individual problem, so I connected the CCGX to the router with a UTP cable and continued.
First problem half solved.

My second problem:
The annual service of the next motorhome has arrived.
The CCGX firmware version here was 2.87.
I inserted the victron wifi module into the device, connected to the Internet and updated to the latest version 3.51.
The device took a lot of thought, but it was finally updated and it had 2 errors at once.
It threw fault code #42, which, if I understood correctly, is a flash storage problem.
The other error is that you no longer see the victron wifi module (BPP900100200) on this version.

I started downgrading the firmware version from here.
3.42 - error #42 is active, the victron wifi module does not work.
3.40 - error #42 is active, the victron wifi module does not work.
3.30 - error #42 is active, the victron wifi module does not work.
2.84 - error #42 is active, the victron wifi module works.

It seems that somewhere between 3.42 and 2.84 there is a wifi module recognition error in the firmware.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the strength to upload more than 4 updates to it, because I’ve already experienced the destruction of CCGX during an update before, and after changing devices, I also have to rewrite instances, which is lengthy.

Does anyone have a similar experience?
What do you advise?

I wish you another nice day.

Yeah. Error #42 is the storage corrupt.

Nothing to do with the wifi module but how full the atorage is
I did recover one with a flash from an sd to factory to an older firmware. But they usually are replaced under warranty from what I understand.
And all updates are run off a usb or sd. Saves data when switching between versions.

The newer firmware versions (depending on how old the CCGX is) can fill the storage so full it can’t handle it.
