My question is specifically about the capacitor, not the question of ferrules/no ferrules.

Do the GX devices benefit from a capacitor like this?
I would guess this capacitor is added to gain immunity from reboots due to sudden drops in voltage when the GX power consumption suddenly spikes?

If they do, why wouldn’t the GX have a capacitor just inside the power connector so that the power supply cable doesn’t need one?

The capacitor was a fix for a series of old cerbos from ages ago (HQ2202) that had a power supply issue on 48v systems.

Unnecessary complication if your cerbo is not from that series.
