My shunt is in a hard to get to space in the battery box in my canopy, I’d like to connect a short RJ12 cable to the shunt and to a straight joiner so that I can easily unplug the cable without having to remove all of the wiring loom that goes to the head/meter. I tried to do this using a 1m RJ12 and a joiners from Jaycar, however, the head/meter unit don’t power up. Do I need a Victron cable do this? Do Victron make a joiner or extension cable? Cheers
Victron manufactures the RJ12 UTP cable for the BMV-7xx series in a variety of lengths from 0.3m up to 30m.
Joiners are not supported, so whether or not one will work is a bit of a coin toss.
