Can I connect the grounds in an isolated charger?

I have a 12|12 30 Smart Isolated Charger on order. I need to use it as if it was non-isolated - in other words, connect the grounds. Can this be done?

I am charging a lithium battery from an AGM system.

Hi Yan.
Presumably an Orion. Yes you can do that. My personal preference would be to do it externally and not crowd the terminals on the unit itself.

Thanks! I am installing a separate fuse block with a ground bar for the chargers (new MPPT, new 120-12v, and new DC-DC charger).

It appears that Victron doesn’t make a 12|12 30A charger that can charge lithium batteries that is non-isolated, so I wanted make sure I’m OK.

They do - the Orion-Tr Smart is available in a non-isolated version and the Orion XS is also non-isolated. But, if you already have the isolated version of the Orion-Tr Smart, it’s totally fine to install it into a non-isolated setup.
