We turned the 12v system off to add additional appliances and when we turned it back on the monitor is now flashing charge on the bottom and the time remaining is no longer displaying. Need help resetting. Afraid to return to factory settings as it may undo any of the parameters the system needs. This is a custom build. Have reached out to the builder but havent heard yet and thought I would see if you can help.

What kind of battery monitor? You probably cant post pictures yet as a newly created account, but you could compare it to the ones available on the Victron website

Do not return to factory setting of the BM without saving the settings!
It will just need to re-synchronise which it will do after its next full charge. So leave it until then before you do anything.
