looking for a bit of advise on what type and specs for the leisure batteries I should look for
Thanks in advance for any info.

I wont recommend a brand as I do not know what is available to you.
For a 12/3000 you need a battery bank that can discharge 250A though. So possibly 3 100AH 12v batteries.
The mppt and inverter can work with any battery as they are very configurable.
Narrowboat usually means UK.
A typical set up is 4 x 100 - 110Ah leisure batteries. Tayna batteries offer a good range. Can not recommend anything specific as the battery box space often determines what will fit.
I have used basic batteries such as Numax, then more expensive types (Leoch Lead Carbon, Victron AGM and now have Victron Lithium) in my narrowboat. General advice is by basic for first set until you know how to look after them, keep them charged. That way, if you ruin your first set, you have not ruined an expensive set.
Something like Numax CXV 30 if it fits or an equivalent in another size.
