Any better monitoring software 3rd party?

Well im setting my trailer up and have 5 victron mppts as its the cheapest way to do it. 4 x 100/50’s (each panel puts out 39A at 12v) then a smaller mppt on a portable panel. Yes i could/should go 24/48v but have large 12v loads

I have the BMV 712 batt monitor set up on battery

Non victron inverter
Non victron batterys
a non victron AC DC charger.

I like a simple display like the GX that has basic smarts showing DC in/out of batt, DC out to inverter (will need another shunt) then all general DC in from mmpts

My system is all bluetooth so why am i required to buy a GX unit to see a similar page?

Id also like to it to calculate what my AC to DC is doing. Which should be easy as it can measure all MPPT’s and whats getting used by the inverter (with extra shunt) and what the battery is doing. So any unallowed charge must be the AC to DC

!! I presume these panels (??680W?)) have an open circuit voltage of 17 - 20v? This is quite an inefficient approach, as the MPPT’s will work best with 25 - 30V input (for a 12v battery). At 17V input they will be quite slow to start in the morning, and you will need large PV cables to minimise circuit losses. Either re-arrange the modules for higher operating voltage, with higher current MPPT’s or use PWM controllers with low voltage panels. You could use multiple smart shunts for monitoring all of the non Victron equipment, but would have to devise a custom method for producing an integrated data display.

No there 475w panels.

Ohms law I=475/12 is 39A

VoC is 36v

Of I went 2 panels per mppt id need more current and the 150/70 is over twice the price and wouldn’t handle full current.

Then some smaller mppt’s handling 300w folding panels 100/30 and some 100/120 solar blankets with 75/15’s

Yes I have several mppt’s

You can put Venus OS on a rpi, install Venus OS large and make your own dashboard with Node-Red. The hardest part will be getting all the inputs from that many devices. If you are going to make your own cables, it might be worth it, but USB hubs are hit and miss and cables are sometimes unreliable, and you are best just getting a GX device.

Even if i got a GX device its still going to be 10 devices. between shunts and mppts

You can get this device to connect 4 ve-direct cables to a single USB.
