I got an Alpha-ESS inverter 5kw & battery SMILE-G3-BAT10 under the rebate for my grid tied system. Not happy with the output of the system and want to upgrade/increase scale. Also disconnects power if I do not have grid loads active. So no power in a blackout despite having battery storage!!!
My parents have a large victron system and I want to know if I purchase my own victron equipment if I can merge the two?
I do not care about voiding my warranty on the Alpha install.
I want to purchase a 15kva victron multiplus-ii connected to 2x 6kw SMA inverter and 2x 48v 280ah lifepo4 batteries wired in parallel.
Can I have comms on my victron app for the Alpha? Can I make the Alpha a slave to the victron? Will the Alpha turn off my victron if grid goes down?
If these will all be issues am I better off running the Alpha as my grid tied inverter and splitting my switchboard into on-grid for the Alpha and a few circuits and off-grid for the victron + sma setup for everything else?
Appreciate any and all advice on the system.
I am in Australia.
