Advice on material list: adding batteries to existing PV system

Hi all,

Location: Belgium
Grid connection: 3-phase
Current system:

  • system installed beginning of March 2024 (so missing Jan/Feb, but those do not have the biggest impact)
  • SolarEdge SE8K-BE0TEBEN4 inverter with MPPT (3 orientations - not entirely happy with the performance but that’s another topic)
  • 18 x Jinko 435 Wp panels for a total of 7.83 kWp

Energy figures 2025:

  • Total PV Production: 3620 kWh
  • Total Grid Consumption: 2430 kWh
  • Total PV injection in grid: 2310 kWh
  • PV self-consumption = 36%
  • Living area’s are heating with floor heating on gas, but sleeping rooms have A/C units for heating/cooling

Looking to increase our self-consumption by installing a ESS - and I saw an interesting combination, consisting of a Seplos 16.5 kWh battery, a Victron Multiplus II 48/5000/70-35 inverter and a Victron Cerbo GX.

Some questions from my end:

  • Are these components suitable for my situation to be installed?
  • Next to wiring and fuses, am I missing crucial components
  • Does it even make sense to install a home battery in my situation?

Many thanks for your advice!
