Add new Smart Battery to existing bank

I have a 3-year-old set of 3 SmartBattery 200 Ah 12v batteries wired in parallel. They are charged by a Multiplus 3000, a 750 watt solar array running through a SmartSolar 100/50, and a 100 amp alternator controlled by a Arco Zeus, all networked together through a Cerbo, so a well regulated charging space. The shunt tells me that they have had 70 cycles, 294 synchronizations, and no full discharges. I’m reconfiguring my starter/windlass/thruster bank, and will have a spot for another 200 Ah SmartBattery as a result. I’d love to have that extra 200 Ah, but I’ve gotten differing answers as to whether that is possible, advisable, or recommended.

What’s your advice?

Thanks,

Walt

Per the user and installation manual, different ages are allowed in parallel operation: 4. Installation

Thanks! Would help if I’d read the book!

Consult the Arcane Scrolls for the Answers You Seek is often the solution, though to be fair there are sometimes things not covered in them so I do try to be as gentle as I can when reminding people
