I have a Victron MultiPlus 24/5000 from a few years ago, and I’ve now replaced the batteries with lithium ones and added a Cerbo GX. I’m getting a GX error 48 alarm: DVCC incompatible firmware. I’ve already updated the MPPT, and I can see that the inverter firmware is version 158. Everything suggests that it’s quite old for a new Cerbo. I tried updating it via VEFlash, but I get a Target Key prompt asking me to enter an Update Key, which I understand I need to obtain from Victron. How should I proceed?
Good afternoon. I tried to update it, but it’s asking for a “target key” and telling me to get the update key from Victron Energy. However, I don’t know how to contact them. Do you have an email address or anything like that? Thank you very much.
I think that the ver old ones can be updated using VE flash,which is still available. Other than that, maybe this will be spotted by @guystewart who is victron staff and should be able to assist.
I updated mine recently, I think the upgrade window appears because you have incompatible firmware. Check the model carefully and, using that information, look for the latest compatible firmware on the following page: Firmware - Victron Professional
Don’t forget to disconnect it from the Cerbo when updating from your computer — it happened to me and I got quite a fright.
This processor is very old, and DVCC isn’t going to work properly with it. I’m sorry to say that, yes, it can be updated, but you’ll still keep getting that message. I have a few of them stored away for emergencies. Cheers!
