Yes, you can use the AC output (AC Out 1) of a Victron MultiPlus inverter to power another inverter on its AC input (AC In).
If I do not have grid power, my question is can I power the inverter from its own AC OUT 1 to AC IN ?
So once the battery is connected the inverter, I would have Power on AC OUT 1.
I connect the AC out 1 to AC In, then I would have power on AC 2.
IS this possible and OK?
Hi Thank you for the reply. Can you expand why it is not Ok? Thanks
OK Tks
The inverter will try synchronize its input to output, eventually the frequency ends up weird. (And other things)
(Answer from experience seen tech supporting a persons site who had inadvertently created a loop back)
In any case why do that when you can just program the ac2 out to be on?
It is completely unsupported though.
Hi The reason I am looking at doing that, is because I am charging another battery, I currently d0 this with an automatic change over switch (ATS), When the battery is full the changeover switch is activated and then opens when the battery is 52V.
I was looking for a Victron inverter that has the ATS function built in.
The Mutliplus II AC OUT2 does not discharge from the battery, it takes the fee from AC IN.
IF AC out 1 & 2 used the battery It would be perfect.
I am looking for a solution, and so far the Victron inverters do not seem to have the solution.
Thanks for the input
Because the output is not large enough and I am using ac2 as a dump to supply power to another load.
You should be able to use VE configure to change AC out 2 to on when the inverter is inverting - rather than charging.
