I have a remote cabin. Victron 150/45, BMV 712, Samlex 1500w. Renogy 100 ah 2S/2P 24volt. 1100 watts of panel. I turn the loads off when I leave. I’ve run the system for 5 years. Never thought to ask if my very short Absorption time is just a biproduct of low use.
Most days when I’m not here, it’ll bulk for a couple hours, one or two minutes in ABS, then float
If the charge current drops below the specified tail current for one minute, the absorption stage will end and the float stage will begin. This setting can be disabled by setting the tail current to zero.
With lithium batteries the absorption can be short if the max charging current is quite low compared to the battery capacity. The charger stays in bulk a long time because the current is low and as said above, if they hit tail current quickly then they go to float, which is likely given the low charging current. Probably not an issue.
