64kW Seplos and Victron Quattro with Cerbo GX

Hello,

I have a Seplos Mason Kit 14.4kW x 4. and need assistance on configuring the right settings.
I have been using the kit for around 1 year, with no issues. It is fantastic! However I have recently started pulling a deep on the battery and thus running to the low end of the battery pack voltage.
For some reason I get an alarm(low voltage) on the Victron but i do not get it to automatically stop discharging. What seems to happen is it stops discharging and the pack goes into shutdown.

Does anyone know the settings I need for both the Victron Cerbo GX and the Seplos BMS (v3 BMS) to make sure it charges and discharges correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Are you using DVCC?

I am yes. DVCC Is enabled

Sounds like it works correctly. The victron gives the low voltage alarm as set in VEconfigure and keeps discharging until the battery BMS tells it to stop by decreasing discharge current to 0 over DVCC.

Is there a problem with the installation besides the low voltage alarm?

Hi there,

Thanks for quick reply. Yes for some reason it goes past the voltage alarm and the aeplos unit shuts down. I can’t seem to get the Victron from stop pulling power once it gets to low pack voltage alarm

After a low voltage alarm (DC input low shutdown voltage) or after a low voltage pre-alarm (DC input low pre-alarm voltage)?

What voltages are set in inverter settings in VEconfigure? What voltages are set in your BMS?

How would you like for it to behave?

So the settings in the BMS are the following:

Total Low Voltage Warning : 48.5V

Total Under Voltage Protection 43.2V

Looking at the Charts being recorded in the Victron unit I can see that we go past the 48.5V and head towards 43.2V before the Battery BMS shuts down.

Behaviour wise. I am looking for it to stop the discharge MOSFET and thus the BMS stays on rather than disconnect. However that is not what is happening, the unit fully powers down and I have to go to the battery and press the power button to get it back online again.

I’m not familiar with seplos BMS settings. The BMS is controlling the charge and discharge current over DVCC so maybe there is a way to set it to 0 before the BMS shuts down.

The other option is to change the inverter settings in VEconfigure so that the inverter shuts down before the BMS does.

Are you grid connected?

Yeah, it should control over DVCC but seems to not stop discharge.

I am grid connected, yes.

You should be able to just set a minimum SOC then. This way the inverter stops discharging except when there is a grid loss or when using power assist.
