I just tried to update 2 of my smaller battery chargers to 3.61 version and both will not complete the upgrade, it leaves them in a state of no installed version with a fail code of X88. can these units be recovered or are the junk now? I have 5 more to update and can’t afford to take the chance of killing them all, what the heck Victron, give us a fix please… or an update I can trust! FYI this is considered a mandatory update, I can’t trust your chargers if this is how they are going to be killed by your updates!
Update, I thought through everything in the environment and came to the fact that both of these units are on my back deck and the weather is in the 25-40 F area - very cold for Washington in my area, I brought one of them inside with a small LION battery and let it warm up over night, I made sure that I unpaired and forgot the unit from my cell phone (Android) and reset the unit with the PUK code, After several attempt it finally got to 97% and requested the access code ( I thought after resetting it with the PUK code it would go back to 000000 but it didn’t and I had to use the code I changed it to get access, it also reverted back to the original custom name I gave it. So I’ll try this with the other charger that would not update outside in the cold soon to see if it makes the difference - Hope so these chargers aren’t cheap!
One fixed one to go…
FYI: It is a Blue Smart Charger Marine version IP67 15/17 amp, the error code was X88
