3.50.~28: Wrong SolarEdge Inverter: Solaredge Smart Meter instead of Solaredge inverter

Dear Victron staff,

since upgrade from 3.50.~27 to 3.50.~28 my ac in coupled SolarEdge inverter SE-7K was replaced by my SolarEdge Smart Meter. (I have 2 smart meters: EM540 for AC grid and SolarEdge for AC grid. They messure the same. The Solaredge SM is from the past and is still used for SolarEdge Monitoring.) It seems to have to do with the new power limiting feature in 3.50.~28. I realized it because after update my SE7K was limited (I use DESS). In the console it shows now the smart meter with the same ip 192.168.10.11 of the SE7K. Power limiting was enabled by default instead of disabled. I manually changed it back to disabled .

My issue is now, that i can’t move or don’t know how to move back to the origin SE7K, which I can still see in the overview. My issue is: because of the change the forecast in VRM is also wrong. It use some strange and low values. Before the forecast was fine.
How can I switch back to my origin inverter including history in VRM? I don’t want to have the SolarEdge Smart meter in the victron system.
Is this a bug or like you expected to be. Is it necessary for power limiting?
You can have a look at my installation 0281fa6bd30f under VRM ID 133372 .

Note: There is a manual added emergency pv inverter on AC Out1 with serial number 7319062C on IP 192.168.10.12. This one is not switched on and will only used and connected to my pv panels in emergency situation without grid and internet. Please don’t touch it

thanks a lot.

Bye Dirk

I revert back to 3.50.~27. Now it’s like before. But the wrong pv inverter/smart meter is still existing, but vrm and venus is using the right/“old” one. and I don’t know how to remove it. For pv forecast perhaps I have to wait. Still not really available.

Hi @Dirk_S , yes this is a bug introduced recently; will be fixed shortly!

Thank you for the report, Matthijs

@mpvader : Yes, its solved now with 3.50~30. Nevertheless I will think about if I will remove the SolarEdge SM in future. Thanks for fast solving

@mpvader : One question again to this issue, also if it seems to be fixed in venus and VRM: Why my PV forecast is nearly not existing or totally bad now? Before 3.50~28 it was nearly perfect since the beginning. Now it’s extremely far away from reality. I can’t use DESS not any longer. If I read this community nobody seems to have a bigger issue with pv forecast. It could be in relation to the issue in 3.50~28. Perhaps there is something in VRM still confused.

Here some screenshots from the morning 12.10.2024:

from this evening:

for tomorrow from this evening 13.10.2024: The sun shall be shining and I expect at least values around noon more than 4 kw.

Do you have any idea? Thanks in advance.
Dirk

Hi @Dirk_S it is quite likely that a few days of wrong solar data can have ofsetted the solar forecast model.

Two options: 1) reset the solar forecast for your site. There is a button for that on VRM → Settings > general.

Or, 2), wait it out.

Either way it will resort itself but might take a while.

I hope its sorted soon, Matthijs

Hi @mpvader, thanks for reply. Ok I will wait some days otherwise I will reset.

In the evening the forecast for the next day is much better. But in the morning of the next day, it’s totally wrong:
