110V/240V split phase input into 220V european multiplus ii

Hello, my name is Alberto and I have a Victron offgrid setup on my European camper van currently traveling the panamerican and in 110V territory. I want to setup a 110V/240VAC split phase generator to charge my batteries thru my multiplus ii (I have a 110V charger but its only 400W and want more). I dont care about the frecuency since I just want to use the multiplus as a charger (set up in charger only and with no loads)

Question is: Can I conect my ACin1 into the 240V split phase output of the generator and make it charge the batteries this way? One hot into L1 in and the other 240V split phase hot into the N1 in of the multiplus ACin1.

I already tried and didnt work (could hear the multi internal relays coming in and out but no charge and then “failure” message came into the Cerbo gx screen), but dunno if there are some failsafes I have to disconect or some confirg I’d have to change.

Thank you in advance!
