Yamaha EF6600 Convenstional Generator does Not Sync with Quattro 48/8000

8 x 345W Sunpower CPV Panels, S -25.88, Azimuth: North, Tilt Angle: 30 degres° (Needs to be upgraded by 3kW)

2 Requirement

Configure inverter to go off-grid and use genereator to supply power shortfall by syncing with the inverter. I cannot go off-grid without the generator synchronising with the inverter.

3 Problem

Generator does not sync with inverter. I will not be able go off-grid without the generator being able to provide power on those days where there is not enough solar radiation.

5 Observatiooooons

5.1 Last Sync Between Generator and Inverter

This table reflects that the generator did synchronize to the inverter a couple of times. I do not have a RVSC file from that time.

5.2 Generator Hz and Voltage

When measured with a multi-meter, the frequency is close to 50Hz and voltage is close to 230V.

5.3 Voltage at Inverter AC Input 2

Volts: 230
Hz: 50

5.4 ESS Optio are Still Displayed in Controls on VRM Dashboard

Despite no ESS Assistant being configured and / or loaded, it is still reflected in the Controls (from the VRM Dashboard), the ESS modes for Optimised Battery Life, Optimised Without Battery Life, Keep Batteries Charge, and External Control are displayed.

Having received feedback from other groups, it is very likely that my small conventional generator supplies “dirty” power which leaves me with the option of purchasing an inverter generator at close to three times the price of the same size conventional generator with the maintenance costs thereafter.

An additional 3kW panels is likely to be cheaper and does not need the spark plugs, oil, fuel and oil filter changes once a year.

It looks like I am going the 3kW panel upgrade route.
