As far as I know there are no plans for smaller and isolated Orion XS at the moment.

this is a shame, I think an enormous amount of the installer and end user base would like to see this release; and sooner rather than later.
Whats missing from the Orion Smart 12/12-30 to make it a viable option? Is using an Orion XS limited to 30A not an option?
Items missing when compared to newer XS model which is: A lot more efficient. Smaller. Less heat. Direct wired connection with way better information. More configurable. Isolated is preferred in some scenarios like towing a trailer behind vehicle and trying to charge from vehicle to battery onboard trailer.

The XS/1400 also has a VE.direct port, which i do use almost everytime, would be nice if other Orion Smart would feature that as well.
Direct wired connection, what do you mean with that exactly? All Orion Smart use the same style cage clamp, the XS uses screw clamps which are arguably worse, but thats subjective.
Configurations are nearly identical, the XS has the option to reduce input/output current, but thats it, the rest is the same for the other Orion Smart.
So far all trailers that ive seen use a common ground with the towing vehicle, but yes there are scenarios that call for an isolated DC/DC charger, but i doubt its an enormous amount of installers and endusers that actually need that
