My cerbo GX has difficulties staying connected to marina wifi. As on most boats, the Cerbo GX is buried in the bowells of the boat and not easy to move. What have others used to boost the wifi signal and help the GX stay connected.
At my home marina, when my boat is on our mooring in front of the house or when I stop at some random marina, I always make sure to connect the GX to the local wifi in order to monitor my boat when I’m not on board. But wifi signals are often weak and my GX commonly drops off the connection - sometimes it automatically reconnects, other times I have to manually reset.
What specific devices (boosters, extenders, routers, etc.) have others deployed to boost the signal from whichever wifi network is available?
I never bother with site/marina WiFi I carry my own system.
I use a TP-link 7350 picked up cheaply from eBay with a cheap 3gb SIM card. 3gb is way more than I need but it’s the cheapest IOT I could find.
I don’t know what’s available over there but any cheap router will do preferably with a battery inside so less demand on the system, and the cheapest non contract SIM to go with it.
