Where can I download previous SW versions for a Cerbo GX (v1)?

As per title, since the external Bluetooth USB that used to work until 7 days ago has stopped working, I’d like to try to revert back to a previous Cerbo SW version since that’s the only thing I can think of that caused the regression.

Sign up to victron professional (free) and there you can find older sw versions

Or just select the backup version in the cerbo. All in the manual.
Should be many existing topics on this subject on this site already.

No that won’t work. My backup version and current version are the same.

OK I have just reverted Cerbo SW back to V3.67 and my two RUUVI temperature sensors are back. Blue LED on Cerbo is blinking as it did 7 days ago, and there’s even a blue led on the USB BT dongle itself that is ON. With version V3.72 Bluetooth external dongle DOES NOT WORK!!!

Have I now shown unambiguously that there is a regression in V3.72 regarding external BT support, or do I need to provide more evidence? If someone asks nicely I might also try version V3.71 and v3.70 to work out exactly where the regression first occurred.

And just so we’re clear, I have wasted another $50 in buying USB BT dongles because Victron can’t be bothered to provide PROPER support to a device that clearly has design issues from the start and is still within warranty. The amount of questions on this forum regarding BT support is astonishing. None of this would have happened if Victron had taken a different stance on their botched up BT implementation, had taken accountability for their mistakes, and either done a serious job in ensuring that BT worked and kept working, or at the very least would keep an UP-TO-DATE list of supported BT USB dongles.

What BT dongle do you have? none of the ones i have been using have stopped working in all the updates and i have some not on the list but have the ‘right chip’.

The one I am now using, and used before, is a Targus ACB75A. I also have a TP-Link UB5A that didn’t work with 3.72. I’ll try it tomorrow with 3.67 to confirm it works with that version.

What is ‘the right chip’? Is ‘CSR 4.0’ the right chipset? Is Realtek supported as well? 4.0 only or is 5.0 with backward compatibility also working? How can the average user work out which USB dongle, in the shop, has the right chipset?

Its hard to say alot of BT dongle makers revise their hardware each model.
So if they openly say what they have then its easier.

You can plug the current working one i to a laptop and check in the device manager what is says it hardwar id is and look for ones that have that chip. It is tedious research.

I have used 1 realtek it on an older install and cannot tell you what it is. I have never updated that site though since install and commission.

Sometimes somone on github has done something to make a thing work.
Do be honest I haven’t looked in a while.

I have asked if there is an updated list. The underlying code will evolve over time. It should be possible to track this down via the BT code used c/o git.

It is what i was thinking. I should look over at git. Its not been high on my keep in the know list.
With all the additional BT sensors being added it makes sense something has to evolve.
