Can someone explain what the “Consumption Forecast” is based on?
I made the assumption that it was based on my usage at the output of my inverter. I have a Multi RS Solar by the way.
It seems to include:
- Consumption at the input used to charge the batteries
- Consumption at the output used by connected devices
I don’t know if this seems like a stupid question but the figures I get are mad, as I charge my batteries overnight which might “consume” 10KWh. It then dissconnects the input relays during the day and then the devices “consume” about say 8KWh from the batteries during that period. The Conumption forecast in VRM and via the API includes BOTH of these so it says I have used 18KWh???!!!
This is visiblt as a total and on the graph.
Surely this makes no sense under any circumstances?
If I wanted to know what energy I used from the grid then the consumption forecast is useless and if I want to know what my devices have consumed then it’s also uselss.
Am I missing something?
I’m actually after my device usage, which I think is called “Self Consumption”? I did have some NodeRed code that logged hourly usage over time and predicted it myself over a weekly basis, but I got rid of that becase I thought this would be a better solution.
