What does the 50mv mean on the smart shunt 500a/50mv?

Thanks for any help - Its bugging the heck out of me - cant find what it means anywhere. Thanks in advance (I know it means 50 millivolts or microvolts) but what is it meaning/its use ?

It has to do with the resistance of the shunt. It’s 50mv at 500amps, or 1 milliohm. The shunt measures the voltage difference across the shunt. Since this value is known, you can measure the voltage across the shunt and calculate the current.
