VRM Release Notes 15-01-2025

Hope you are having a lovely week. On behalf of the VRM team, I would want to thank you for your patience with the performance challenges we were facing last Monday.

We just released some nice advancements to the VRM platform.

We made several improvements to the event log:

  • Now showing which user made a change to the installation’s settings.
  • We split changes to settings up in easier to understand events.
  • When adding or removing tags, we show which tags were changed.

  • The installation overview now shows “battery to grid” and “PV to grid” values for ESS systems, providing better visibility of energy flows.

  • The team page now has a cleaner, more intuitive interface for managing team member roles.

  • On mobile devices, the “Add Installation” button is now less prominent to reflect typical user flows.

  • You can now open installations in a new tab by holding the Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) key while clicking on an installation in the navbar.

  • The downloaded VE.config file now includes the site name, making it easier to organize and identify

  • On the device list we added a button to reboot your GX device if needed

As always, all of these changes are automatically visible in VRM.

Hi @Barbara

Thanks for the updates and fixes!

Don’t know if it’s your “department”, but no matter what I am doing for rebooting GX device, the below sequence of things are happening.
So no success rebooting from VRM the GX device.

Thanks!

It seems that I was wrong…

Always receive that “No response received. GX device may not reboot”, but in background the “reboot” it seems to be made.

Could be a waiting for a response that, because of the reboot, it doesn’t arrive ?

Hi Alex,

Seems you figured it out, it indeed tries to start a reboot, but if something happens (e.g. an internet outage) we don’t guarantee that the GX will actually reboot.
With the upcoming VenusOS version you will receive confirmation that the GX is going to reboot.
We’ll see if we can improve the clarity of the current state of things a bit more

Thank you!
