VRM Error 1512 (“Something went wrong”) on opening VRM

Client of ours repeatedly receives “something went wrong, please try again later (1512)” when opening VRM on iphone.

We are looking at the same installation via VRM portal and do not receive this warning

any idea what could cause the error?
